Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking professionals who bring expertise, passion, and vision in areas critical to our growth and sustainability, including:
• Law and Governance: Strengthen legal frameworks and ensure ethical accountability.
• Advocacy and Policy: Drive systemic change and position AUA as a leading voice for inclusive sports and recreation.
• Finance and Risk Management: Safeguard financial sustainability and support strategic investment.
• Marketing and Communications: Enhance AUA’s visibility, engagement, and impact through bold campaigns.
• Fundraising and Grant Writing: Unlock funding opportunities to expand programs and resources.
• Event Management: Create high-impact events that raise awareness, funds, and community support.
• Community Engagement: Build partnerships with schools, governments, and organisations to strengthen our programs and advocacy.
We are looking for leaders who are not only skilled but also committed to driving change and achieving ambitious outcomes for children, families, and communities.
What You’ll Do
As a Board member, you will:
• Provide Strategic Leadership: Shape AUA’s vision, align our strategy with goals, and ensure our mission delivers real impact.
• Be an Active Contributor: Participate fully in 11 monthly Board meetings, two strategic planning sessions, and sub-committee initiatives.
• Drive Advocacy and Engagement: Represent AUA’s mission at events, build relationships with stakeholders, and champion the importance of inclusive programs.
• Support Key Initiatives: Lead or contribute to critical areas such as fundraising, advocacy, event execution, and program expansion.
• Collaborate for Impact: Work with other Board members, staff, and volunteers to strengthen governance and enhance organisational outcomes.
What You’ll Commit To
• A three-year term with the possibility of renewal.
• Active engagement in meetings, planning sessions, and organisational initiatives.
• Contributing expertise to strengthen AUA’s governance and operational impact.
• Your leadership will empower AUA to grow sustainably and deliver on its promise of inclusion

• Complete the AUA Board Nomination Form.
• Submit your nomination by February 1st 2025.
• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview with the Nomination Committee.
• Final nominations will be presented at the AGM.
