AUA Scholarship Program 2025

This year, we are proud to deliver the 2025 Scholarship Program thanks to the generous sponsorship of the SNOW Foundation, whose support empowers families across our community to access evidence- based programs.

With the Snow Foundation’s generous donation, AUA will be able to provide up to 60 fully paid scholarships for our inclusive sports programs.

Welcome to the Abilities Unlimited Australia (AUA) Scholarship Program – an initiative designed to remove financial barriers and create life-changing opportunities for children to thrive through inclusive sports and recreation.

What is the AUA Scholarship Program?

The AUA Scholarship Program provides full financial support for children to participate in our small-group adaptive programs. These scholarships ensure that families experiencing financial strain or social challenges can access high-quality, inclusive sports and recreation activities that build skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging. This FREE community event is open to everyone! Whether you're a cycling enthusiast, a parent, or someone who believes in breaking barriers for children of all abilities, come and be a part of this amazing opportunity

🏅 Programs Covered by Scholarships

Our scholarships focus on small-group programs with a ratio of 1 coach : 3 children or 1 coach : 2 children to provide a structured, supportive environment where every child can succeed. Scholarships are available for the following programs

  • Cyclabilities supports children at every stage of their cycling journey, from balance bikes to mastering off-road trails. With each program being underpinned by safe cycling skills.

    • Balance & Glide (Basic): Focuses on balance and coordination using balance bikes.

    • On the Pedals (Intermediate): Teaches pedalling skills and road safety.

    • Head for the Dirt (Advanced): Introduces off-road cycling for adventurous participants.

  • A multi-sport program designed to teach teamwork, coordination, and confidence through sports such as soccer, basketball, and cricket.

    • Beginner (1:3): Small-group sessions that focus on collaboration and team play.

  • Creative dance classes that inspire self-expression, build coordination, and encourage social connection.

    • Beginner (1:3): Group classes combining choreography and freestyle movement.

  • Adaptive skateboarding sessions designed to build balance, creativity, and confidence.

    • Beginner (1:3): Foundational skateboarding skills in a supportive setting.

    • Intermediate (1:2): Progression to tricks, ramps, and advanced skateboarding techniques.

  • Practical self-defence classes focusing on confidence, mindfulness, and emotional regulation.

    • Beginner (1:2): Small-group instruction tailored to building strength and resilience.

  • Sensory-friendly swimming lessons designed to teach essential water safety skills and build confidence in the water.

    • Beginner (1:3): Focuses on floating, breath control, and basic swimming techniques.

Who is the Scholarship for?

Families facing the following circumstances are encouraged to apply:

  • Financial hardship

  • Social isolation or cultural barriers

  • Transitional circumstances (e.g., domestic violence survivors, foster care, refugee families)

  • Limited access to community programs or recreational opportunities

The AUA Scholarship Program is open to any family experiencing financial hardship or social challenges, ensuring that no child is excluded from the benefits of inclusive sports and recreation.

No formal disability diagnosis is required. If you believe your child would benefit from participating in an AUA program, we welcome your application.
