AUA Sports Instructor
About You
Do you have a passion for empowering children and young people through inclusive sport and recreation? Are you skilled in delivering engaging, adaptive, and innovative programs across disciplines like cycling, swimming, skateboarding, dance, martial arts, and team sports? The Role
We are seeking Sports Instructors with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Cycling (road, trail, and balance-focused programs)
Swimming and aquatic therapy
Skateboarding
Martial arts, boxing and self-defence
Dance and movement programs for emotional and physical wellbeing
Team sports like soccer, netball, athletics, cricket and basketball
In this role, you will:
Deliver high-quality programs: Lead adaptive, inclusive, and participant-centred sports sessions tailored to the goals and needs of individuals.
Foster growth and empowerment: Use your expertise to promote skill development, confidence, and independence for participants of all abilities.
Mentor and support staff: Provide guidance to junior instructors and volunteers, modelling best practices in instruction, engagement, and safety.
Engage with families and stakeholders: Act as a trusted point of contact for participants’ families and carers, offering clear communication and progress updates.
Ensure safety and professionalism: Maintain rigorous safety standards and a positive environment that encourages participation and resilience.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with skills, qualifications, and experience in:
Accreditation (or willingness to obtain) in your sport(s) of expertise, with a proven track record of delivering engaging, inclusive programs.
Experience engaging with diverse participants, particularly those with disabilities or additional needs.
Certifications such as First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain), alongside a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check.
Background in education, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, or a related field is a bonus.
