AUA programs focus on enhancing participants' physical, social, communication, and emotional development, contributing to their ability to meet the long-term goals established within their NDIS plans. By incorporating evidence-based practices and working closely with allied health professionals, our programs ensure each session promotes meaningful capacity building, fostering independence and community participation. This holistic approach not only supports participants' growth but also provides carers with valuable insights and practical tools, maximising the program's effectiveness and value for money.
NDIS Alignment
AUA’s programs align with NDIS categories, ensuring that families can effectively use their NDIS funding. This includes:
Core Supports – Assistance with Social and Community Participation: AUA’s adaptive sports programs provide opportunities for participants to enhance their social skills, communication abilities, and interpersonal interactions in an inclusive environment. These programs promote peer engagement, help develop teamwork and collaborative skills, and foster community participation by creating pathways for participants to join inclusive sports and community activities. This supports the NDIS objective of empowering individuals to build independence, self-confidence, and meaningful relationships within their community, while respecting their individual strengths and encouraging self-directed participation. AUA programs not only provide a safe space for social development but also promote community integration, ensuring participants have the opportunity to participate fully and meaningfully in the broader community.
Capacity Building Supports – Improved Daily Living (CB Daily Activities): Our therapy-informed sessions are designed to build participants' independence in daily activities, aligning with the Improved Daily Living support category of the NDIS. These sessions focus on developing key skills such as motor coordination, emotional regulation, and self-care, ensuring that participants are equipped to enhance their mobility and safety in everyday life. By fostering functional capacity, these programs empower participants to increase their independence in both personal care and broader community settings. Additionally, the tailored, evidence-based approach ensures that families and carers are supported, offering progress updates and resources to help sustain development outside of sessions, ensuring value for money in achieving long-term, measurable outcomes.
Capacity Building Supports – Increased Social and Community Participation (CB Social): AUA programs are designed to align with the NDIS Increased Social and Community Participation category by fostering capacity-building in social and communication skills. Through structured, therapy-informed activities, participants develop functional communication, interpersonal skills, and social resilience. These programs are aimed at enhancing community integration, providing opportunities for participants to engage in inclusive social interactions, and promoting meaningful peer relationships. By focusing on collaborative teamwork, adaptive social participation, and person-centred approaches, our programs support participants in building their confidence to navigate broader community environments and increase independence in social settings. This supports NDIS goals of empowering individuals to actively engage in social inclusion and community-based activities, facilitating long-term improvements in community participation and personal growth.
Capacity Building Supports – Improved Health and Wellbeing (CB Health and Wellbeing): AUA programs are designed to enhance physical fitness, functional capacity, and emotional resilience in line with NDIS goals. Through targeted activities, we promote gross motor development, coordination, and mental wellbeing, helping children work towards achieving their health and wellbeing outcomes. Our evidence-based approach supports the development of both physical strength and psychosocial functioning, which aligns with NDIS aims to improve participants' overall quality of life and ability to engage with their communities.
Capacity Building Supports – Improved Relationships (CB Relationships): AUA programs focus on fostering positive social interactions, collaborative teamwork, and emotional regulation to support participants in building and maintaining meaningful relationships. AUA programs are designed to facilitate the development of effective communication and cooperation skills, which are crucial for building relationships in both home environments and the wider community. These skills align with NDIS outcomes related to social participation and community inclusion, promoting independence and enhancing the participant’s capacity to engage in healthy, supportive relationships.
