About you

AUA is seeking qualified and dedicated Swim instructor to deliver our unique Waterabilities program on weekends during school terms. Waterabiliites is an intensive, personalized water safety and early swim skills program, specially designed to teach children with a disability or water trauma using structure, reward and progress in a social, fun and supportive in water and dry land environments. The program aims to not only reduce the risk of accidental drowning, but also build confidence, coordination and social inclusion.

Programs support children who:

  • are petrified of the water

  • have sensory/behavioural needs and require extra attention

  • have challenges processing instruction and find mainstream programs challenging (they need a slowly, slowly approach)

  • have physical disabilities and need the intensive 1:1 support.

At Waterabilities we believe that every child has the right and should be provided the support to ensure they are safe in and around water. Our lessons are personalised for children with a disability aged 3+.
